Susan G. Koman 3-day

a picture of Mauri, Mom and Jenna at the 3 Day walk November of 2008.
This year, Jenna and Mauri are volunteering as crew members for the Susan G. Koman 3 day. We are excited to help out from a volunteer perspective instead of walking. As a crew member we don't have the fundraising requirement that the walkers do, however we still want to be able to raise all the money that we can for this great organization. An organization that helps with research and support for those women (and men) that are fighting the same battle we fought with our mom. We are volunteering in memory of her. We are volunteering in hopes that our effort and the money we raise will bring awareness as well as hope for those who have breast cancer now or for those who will be diagnosed with it in the future.

Thank you all for your continued love and support with this.

My husband and I were in the Greenway Ward with your family as a young married couple (we now have 5 children of our own so that tells you how long ago). We admired your family and adored your mother. My husband was Activities Committee Chair and your mom was on his "board". He loved working with her and Sister Transtrum -- they made his calling so enjoyable! (As you can imagine) We moved to Glendale (which may as well been out-of-state) and lost touch with many families.

I was just flipping through a BYU Magazine and stopped on the Alumni Updates page - which I've never done. I noticed your mom's name and had to google it to see if it was really her. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a woman she was and such an example to many, including me. I'm sure that even a year later you must think about her everyday. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. How lucky you were to be blessed with a mother with such an amazing spirit.
